Silankapu is a spatial narrative design inspired by a traditional Tujia folk tale. The original story follows Silan, a skilled weaver who is tragically misunderstood and harmed by her father during her search for ginkgo blossoms. This project reimagines her fate, allowing Silan to retreat into a hidden sanctuary where she quietly nurtures ginkgo flowers and pursues her dream. The design unfolds through three symbolic scenes: Silan's weaving space, a deceptive garden, and her parents' home—each representing a layer of her inner world and the shifting emotional ties between characters. In the end, the ginkgo blossoms bloom in the protected garden, symbolising Silan's self-worth realised and her journey of quiet transformation.
